Self-Publishing - E-Book Tools You Will NeedThere are a few software tools you will need to create and self-publish your own e-book. To create a book which is browser compatible (readable in Netscape or Explorer .html format) you will require an HTML editor. Some are available free. Tools You Will Need The software you will require to begin typing your text for publishing by others will vary depending on the publisher you are submitting to. See our section on "Publishers" for more information. Some will require you to have WordPerfect software, others require Microsoft Word format, some prefer it in .pdf format (described above), some only require that the completed submitted text be in ASCII format or Rich Text format (which you can do usng Wordpad if you are using Windows95 or a higher version of Windows). On-Line Publishing Options There are a host of on-line publishers to choose from. Be sure to read the fine print before submitting your work to any of them. We have provided some information in our "Publishers" section, however it may not be current. (Unfortunately, we do not have the manpower nor resources to follow-up on most information we have collected or received on-line.)
