Bloodstone

Bloodstone a type of opaque quartz commonly found in the USSR and India, is deep green with flecks of red, often resembling drops of blood.

Heliotrope (Bloodstone) when placed in water was supposed to give the water a reddish hue - producing a red reflection when sun fell upon it. This produced the folklore notion that Bloodstone had the power to turn the sun blood-red creating extreme weather effects. Many other mystical powers were given the stone by the ancients, such as the power to predict the future, preserve the faculties and bodily health of the wearer - bringing him respect and guarding him from deception.

Healing properties: Ancient Egyptians, in addition to using Bloodstone to assuage the wrath of kings and despots, used Bloodstone to counteract tumors and growths. The stone is said to benefit the bones, heart, and reproductive organs - all of which are blood-rich, and also said to be a vital, life-giving stone that stimulates courage and can help to raise consciousness.
