Amethyst

Amethyst: A violet-colored Quartz stone found in Brazil, Canada, Sri Lanka, and parts of East Africa, its color varies from a deep vilet to pale lavender, almost to the point of being clear. Prior to the discovery of large deposits in Brazil, was considered a precious gem. Its cruative properties have long been recognized by natural healers and psychics. Amethyst has a direct link to the mind: Edgar Cayce suggested it for control of temperament.

Healing properties: said to bolster the production of the hormones, strengthen the cleansing of organs, the circulatory system and blood, the immune system, and body metabolism. Few crystals offer as much potential benefit to the mind; soothes the nervous system and aids in the transmission of neural signals, helps you feel less scattered and more in control of your faculties, allows you to control and balance excessive emotional highs and lows, helps the user feel more able to rely on his or her intuition, memory skills and motivation improve, goals are more realistic, clearer, and easier to achieve.

(Personal note: I once lived in an area surrounded by more than 27 mines of this special stone. I use to have 4 giant slabs in varying colors of amethyst by my bed. Personally, and I was skeptical, I have discovered its amazing powers for myself - but that's a whole other story.)
