Again, we stress, aromatherapy is not intended to replace a visit to your doctor or physician - but it can help us help ourselves for many ailments. Here we'll explore the different areas of our life where armatherapy can be of some benefit. Essential oils help us in a natural manner - enabling us to avoid some drugs that can cause side effects and have no life force.
Balancing Emotions - the appropriate essential oils can be used to provide relief from extreme emotions - sadness, sorrow, fear, anxiety, depression, mood swings, anger, lethargy, emotional numbness, etc. - many of which are said to cause pain, tension, and disease.
Meditation and Sprituality - for centuries aromatherapy has been used to relax the mind and body to become centered and treat the body and soul. Add to this, the ability to influence Chakras using essential oils
Cosmetic - essential oils are used for a wide range of skin care and are effective for treating burns, pimples, infections, inflamations, and irritations when used correctly.
Cooking - yes, some essential oils can be applied to this area of your life. Again, we stress, buy a good guide on aromatherapy and essential oils before doing this.
Perfume - as a deodorant or to change your smell, surround yourself with your own scent to enhance your days...
Sexuality - on 3 levels, (1) can directly trigger sexuality by stimulating sexual hormones, (2) can help overcome impotence or anorgasmia with physical causes by stimulating and strengthening the genitals and reproductive system, and (3) pleasant scents can open the heart and mind.
There's more - but the above are the basic applications for aromatherapy.
Methods of Application
There are a variety of ways to apply aromatherapy - for instance, I have a small desk lamp next to my computer turned on during my Web Design hours, the shade of which is a type of tin which can get very hot during longer sessions - I usually put a drop or two of peppermint onto it when I need to clear my mind and re-energize. We'll be adding an Alternative Health Center to our club soon which will be searchable by ailment and have different Alternative Health applications that can be used (such as using crystals, armoatherapy, herbs, etc.) for each ailment.
On our next page "How To Apply - 1" we view different methods of application and what they benefit most.
