A Mother's Gift
When a mother gives birth she can never know
The path her children choose to go.

She feeds them, she loves them...
She gives them her care...
While they're growing up
She seems to always be there.

She bandages cuts
And wipes away tears...
Hugs tightly to help
Remove all their fears.

She guides and directs
Teaching wrong from right
So they can fend for themselves
When she's out of sight.

Her magical cures
For the cold and the flu
Are wisdoms they carry
Their whole life through...

Though she may not know it
The "mother knows best"
Is rigorously put
Through many a test.

As time marches on
And they're on their own
Defending their dreams
With the seeds she has sown

She may never realize
The role she has played...
That all of her wisdoms
In their minds have stayed.

No matter the challenges
Each child must live through,
Her love and guidance
Walks with them too.

For a mother's gift
Is a spiritual thing
Carried in the heart
No matter what life may bring.
